Check this page each week to see what our Fall Women’s Bible Study group is learning from 2 Corinthians!
We will be diving into this New Testament Book with the help of Kelly Minter’s study guide, All Things New. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for us this semester!
There is SO much to grasp in week one and we are all eager to learn more about these main points from 2 Corinthians in the image below! Kelly also made the statement that “we are more poised for spiritual ministry then we ever thought we were” and I cannot wait to unpack that bit of truth!
We learned that God is the God of all comfort (oyktirmos) and that He is the Father of all mercy…who personally helps us (paraklesis). It is so hard to grasp how suffering has a purpose, especially in the midst of it all. Below are a few things unique about Christian suffering. I’ve personally experienced ALL of the things she lists. I’ve been comforted and had a peace in times of suffering that could have only come from the Lord. For a stubborn and independent woman like me, it has also helped me to put my reliance in Jesus instead of myself. I can’t wait to see what will be uncovered this week in the study section!
This week was all about Jesus bringing us a new and everlasting ministry! The old has gone…the new has come!
In week four, we unpacked some amazing wisdom on how to deal with difficult relationships with genuine love! We are challenged to love people with sincerity and generosity even during tense times.
Rethinking generosity! It is only by God’s grace that we can cheerfully and sacrificially give. We were also reminded that generosity also needs to be “followed through” and come from a sincere and joyful heart. The 11 statements about generosity (from Paul in 2 Corinthians) are definitely something I will be holding on to!
